    The Fair of Ballycumber.
    The second day of blooming May,
    I took a stroll to Ballycumber Fair
    As in the street we both did meet,
    With something that was queer.
    As Pat walked out he let a shout,
    And hardly could turn round,
    When Holy Sage bent down with age,
    The thimbler won a pound
    There were only two public houses in Ballycumber, Pat Weir's and Charlie Reilly's. One day Tome went in to Weir's to have a pint and Pat asked him what would be the best advertisement to put up. He said a bee hive and he wrote underneath
    "In this hive we're all alive,
    For liquor makes us funny,
    If you be wise step in and try,
    The flavour of our honey"
    Shortly afterwards he was passing by Reilly's when Charlie asked him about the advertisement. He said he would make it suit him by adding another verse. He went back and on the back of the bee-hive he wrote
