- James Devery my grandfather was a very holy man. He was always seen with his beads in his hands saying the rosary, when he used be going to work and coming from it. About six months before his death it is said that the Blessed Virgin appeared to him. The evening before his death he was seen coming home from Belmont mills with his hat under his arm his rosary beads in his hands and he saying the rosary. He never used a prayer. About four o clock next morning he died suddenly.
