    Moneygall is situated in the parish of Dunkerrin and in the barony of Clonlisk.

    Moneygall is situated in the parish of Dunkerrin and in the barony of Clonlisk.

    In 1686 Rev. Patrick Hogan who was ordained in Kilkenny Became P.P.

    Rev. Fr Davern became P.P. in 1718 and resided at Clonomohona few miles from Moneygall Village.
    Tradition states that he was murdered in Barnagrotty in 1748.
    It was on a fair day. It is unknown where the pair was held.
    The culprit was arrested and lodged in Kilkenny Gaol.
    He confessed to his giult and stated he thought the priest had a big sum of money on his person. Hence the
