Mass is celebrated next morning for the repose of the soul of deceased.Before the funeral to the cemetery a small table is placed in the Church porch. The head of the house, or a near relative stands by the table with the priest. A hand bell is rung. The head of the house puts £1 or more on the table. Relatives and neighbours file in and leave 2/6 on the table.
