The exact spot where this accident occurred is still marked out, and it is said by the people of the district, that no grass ever grew on this spot. Another story also told is that of a horseman riding wildly is seen on certain nights on the polo ground. The result is that the local people give the spot a wild berth, when they are passing by it, especially at night-time. These stories of the haunted Pleasure Ground are often told in the district around Fenagh and Newtown.
