  1. The following story was told to me by my grandmother Mrs McCormac Ballinakill. It is about the rath in Mr. Terence Fenelons field about a mile and a half from our house
The old people called this rath the Round O because it is round in shape. Fairies were often seen and heard there and people passing by at twelve o'clock at night heard the loveliest music and singing near it.
Everybody says that it is very unlucky to interfere with the fairies that is to harm raths or lone bushes which are supposed to belong to them. The truth of this has been proved many a time.
Once upon a time Terence Fenelon decided to plough the field in the middle of which the rath is situated. He gave instructions to his workman William Furlong to root up some bushes in the Rath and clear it for ploughing.
