- There is a very ancient graveyard in the corner of a field in Brownbog, which has many old traditions connected with it. It is surrounded by a low mound, and though the field is a fertile one, and the remains of the graveyard take up a good patch of this field, a plough has never touched it.Tradition tells up that hundreds of years ago, there, in the same corner stood a beautiful church and numbers of old Irish crosses. There was a small road leading from the Church to the Main road and traces of it can still be seen. Soon after hte church began to fall in, first the roof fell in, and when it had fallen in, a man found he was in want of material to build a pig house, and he decided to draw stones out of the church to build it. When he went he was very disheartened, he saw that they were very small, and instead of bringing home a load of stones he brought home a load of tombstones. When he had the house completed, he found that he had no troughs, and he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
