    a) About 60 years ago there was a tannery in Moffat's Lane in Hackestown. A man owed it named White. He bought hides of cattle from the farmers around and tanned them. He supplied a leather store also all the shoemaker in Hacketstown with leather.
    b) About eighty years ago there was a chandler in Hacketsown named Richard Kelly who carried on this business in Main Street. He supplied all the shops in the town and the surrounding district with candles. He used tallow for the candles which he purchased from the butchers also cotton wick. This industry gave employment to ten or twelve people.
    c)There was also a nail industry in this town about fifty
