- The lone bush is a very common form of superstition in this country.
This is a local story of a lone bush.
Once upon a time there was a lone bush in a hill field of Barnamire. One afternoon a young chap of the house when coming in to dinner to save trouble broke a stick or two off it as though he might carry a stick or two for the fire to save trouble.
In the evening after work they put some of the sticks on the fire and as soon as they did so they heard the grandest music all round them and the people of the house got a great fright.
They immediately suspected it had something to do with the sticks and they asked where they had been got and on being told knew at once what was the cause of the music.
So dreading anything worse late and all as it was they made the young chap go back and place the sticks under the bush again. The boy did so(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
