  1. In the olden days when no barometers were used, people - especially farmers - watched very carefully and became quite expert in reading the signs of the weather. They observed quite simple things i.e. The colour of the sky.
    (1)a Rain - When the sky at sunset is pale yellow.
    (b) Rain - a grey or pale yellow sunset.
    (c) Bad weather - When the sky is red at morning.
    (d) Fine Weather - When the sky is rosy at sunset.
    (e) Thunder - When the clouds are black and the atmosphere heavy.
    I often heard people say:- "A red sky at night is a sheperd's delight.
    But a red sky at morning is the sheperd's warning."
