    only one son got the farm, the others had to emigrate. There were tithes collected previous to 1869 but the tenants were not aware of it because the landlord collected them as part of rent, and paid them over to the Protestant Church. The battle with the landlord continued until the tenants, became owners of the farms in 1892.
    The bailiffs and game-keepers were the worst as they took bribes from some tenants and helped these tenants to injure their neighbours by sending bad reports to the agent against their honest neighbours. But the Land League rooted out bribery with all its evils.
