Ye sons of this isle who for liberty pine,
Give ease into this Reformation.
I own your oppressed and sorely distressed,
And burdened by odious taxation.
The fruits of your labour are taken I own,
Supporting proud parsons who strayed from their own;
This three hundred years which caused to make moans.
The sons of old Erin arose from their slumber,
'Tis lately I saw them I can't tell the number.
Lets join in one voice and we can't be encumbered,
For Dan he has gained the Reform.II
On the 31st of July in the year '32,
Let pages for ever record it.
As I strayed from my cot to behold a review,
In a country where Brunswickers lorded.
As I walked it from Cavan to fair Lavey strand,
Twas there I beheld a display that was grand.
For on the first banner I saw 'Irish Dan',
The man of the people, the great Liberator.
Farnhams Brunswickers styled him the Great Agitator,
Because he first gained the reform.III
The next thing I saw on that beautiful banner,
Was the red, white & green in its glorious standard.
The red for the martyrs, who bled for their country(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
