- This well was in a field 400yds. to the north of where its present situation is. Once a young lady came and use some of its waters for washing clothes. After this profanation the well was never seen there again but it sprung up on the side of the hill already mentioned. A trout is supposed to be seen in this well and is visible only to a person who has been cured of his infirmity. The trout is supposed to be the saint of the well who assumes that form for the person who is to be cured.
Never suppressed. Present inhabitants do not remember when first the well appeared.
