A local cure for jaundice was to get a quart of new milk. Then go to the fields and pick a number of primroses. Wash them three times in spring water and steep them for a considerable time overnight in water. Then boil them for one and a half hours and mix them with the milk. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth and take a wineglassful of it every morning fasting.John Hetherton
