    The docken is a harmful weed which spreads quickly and extracts quite a lot of sap out of the earth.
    The luacra is one of the most annoying plants especially in wet land and wet seasons encourage its growth. Unfortunately the townland of Coragh grows it in plenty especially in wet seasons.
    The buadhallán or rag-weed is another weed that grows nowhere only in rich soils. It too extracts much manure and sap from the earth. The ceasairbhán or succory is a plant that spreads quickly and when growing in crop lands if not pulled out gets ahead of the crop and smothers it. Of course it is good food for any animal, even the human beings use it in many ways. A full and complete account of its medicinal qualities is give in a precious chapter of this book.
    The briosclán or skinnet is another weed harmful to the crops. It has serrated silver leaves with long tendrils of roots stretching on top of the earth and any of those vine like branches starts a new root.
