Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a straw rope. The best sort of rope was made (ciotach) and generally there were five stitches on each side. Of course there were other houses built of stone where it was plentiful and they were slated.
Sometimes the bed was in the kitchen but generally there was a room and kitchen. The fireplace was generally against the gable wall. The front of the chimney was made of wicker work covered with wattles. The windows were very small and strange to say there were less diseases then and very little use for a doctor then. Even with the new houses of the present day large windows, cement floors, the walls lime washed in the latest modern improvements and still the diseases are more numerous than 100 years ago and men and women were stronger(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
