- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)because it is supposed the mail coach was robbed there long ago. Loughanlea is also a historic place. Long ago it is said there was a pond of water on top of it and there was supposed to be a cure in it for sore or itch. A local landlord hearing of the cure and having dogs with the disease took them to the mountain and put them into the water to get them cured but after that the water dried up and there was never a drop of water on Loughanlea mountain since. There are a couple of forts around this locality. In these forts there lived fairies long ago but there are no things as fairies nowadays. There are a few lone bushes growing on our farm.
