    man's ground who was a protestant. He would not allow the catholics to draw water and there were no other wells about. So one morning he found them all dried up and these new wells sprung up in their place. Taghart lake is a small lake that stands at the foot of Taghart. There is another lake not far from Taghart called Loughanlea. Long ago there was a lake on the top of this mountain and if people took sick they could be cured by drinking the water but one day a man's dog took sick and he bathed it in the water and after that the lake disappeared.
