- Mrs MacCowell, whose husband was a native of Aughacillmore says that this was a blessed well. She 'has no Irish' yet she says that there was a church in Peter Sullivan's land in that townland and that the well was near the church and was used by the monks as well as by the people of the district. It has never been known to go dry.

- This is a blessed well in Ballamore parish of Granard. A woman washed clothes at it one time and it went dry for a whole year.
This well is on Brian Geraghty's field, at the back of Brian's house there was a castle in old times.
At the well there is a flag having the print of saint's knees(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
