- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)All at once the table was filled with gold cups and saucers. Jack's mother looked into a big jug and it was filled with gold sovereigns. His mother was so delighted that she told all her neighbours about the magic tablecloth. At last the landlord heard it.
He came to Jack's mother and said "I must have the tablecloth" and Jack's poor mother had to give it to him. Without the tablecloth Jack and his mother were as poor as ever.
It came to the time when they had to pay the rent again and Jack's mother sent him to see the cow. When he came to the corner of the wood he met the main again. "How much do you want for the cow" said the man. "Twenty pounds" said Jack. "Not at all" said the man "Take this bottle and tell it to do its duty and it will help you to get back your tablecloth". Jack refused but when he took the bottle into his hand the man hit the cow and disappeared.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
