    every house in the district had a spinning wheel. However now there are only about three in the district. We have a spinnking wheel at home but we do not ever use it now.
    I could not find whether there were any special kinds of clothes worn at deaths, feasts or weddings or not.
    The women used to wear a garment which is no longer used called a cross-over. It was knitted and the border was of crochet usually of a different colour or wool.
    This garment was much like the diagram shown above. Part A was thrown over the back and B and C were crossed over the breast. The strings were taken round to the back and then they were taken back and tied in the front.
