- My grandfather lived beside Enagh Bog. One dark night in winter he heard cries coming from the bog. He took a lantern and went out to search. He found an old man named Pat Carroll of Blackstep wandering through the bog. He took him home and was surprised to see he was wearing his coat inside out. My grandfather asked him why he was wearing it like that. The old man explained that if the fairies lead you astray, you should put on one of your garments inside out. This breaks the spell the fairies have over you.
