- There are many ancient buildings in Ireland still in order of preservation but many others are crumbling gradually away.
There is a very ancient abbey in Drumlane below Killeshandra. It has a shape like a round tower. Old residents in the district say that an angel built the greater portion of this abbey in one night. When he was building it a group of English soldiers hindered him to complete his work. It seems they knew the place quite well and they thought it was rebels hiding on them. They went into the field and to their surprise they saw a beautiful abbey.
The walls were made of gorgeous stones. There were no windows in it but oval shaped holes were found in the walls to let in the light.- Bailitheoir
