- A man was living near Cullane Lake. He had a mare which he never had intended her to have a foal. The mare to his surprise, proved in foal this year. She had the foal in due time. When the foal was reared a horse put up his head out of the lake and neighed to the foal. The foal jumped into the water and was never seen after. Next year the mare proved in foal again. When she had a foal the owner said that he would put the foal into a house for four years, at the end of that time he started to train this young horse. One day when the trainer was riding on the horse along by the lake the horse in the lake put up his head and neighed. Both rider and horse leaped into the lake, the horse leaving(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
