When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemani, His sweat became bloody. A robin, seeing the soldiers coming, dried and wiped the blood with his breast so that the soldiers could not track Him that way. The soldiers coming were at a loss to know which way to go to find Him, but a chafer in the grass, put up his head and piped his croaking song, which sounded like, "This way, This way." The soldiers went and found Our Lord.
Ever since the robin's breast is red and the chafer is disliked by most people.
