- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)centre of it,to have a place to hide his son,when the storm would come.At last the day came ,and also the storm ,and he bade his son to go into the hole ,as he thought it was the only safe place .The boy went but instead of getting into the hole,he walked around it,saying his prayers ,and when the storm was at its worst ,the lightning struck the rock,and broke it to pieces,but the boy was not hurt.
The heavy rain often uproots the road ,and the flood rises in many places.In the Ballinruan district there was great damage done by a bog slide caused by the heavy rain.This only happened a few years ago,it moved about three miles down the mountain side ,and covered acres of land.
