Besides signs of bad weather there are also signs of good weather, such as,
    (1) When the sun goes down very red in the evening, people say, that we will have a fine day, the day after.
    (2) When we see a bright night and a lot of stars in the sky we are sure of frost.
    (3) If you see a ring around the moon, we will get frost.
    (4) When goats lie on the road-side, it is the sign of fine weather. There is a story told about Haunsells point. On one occasion about thirty years ago, there was a conference of the clergy in Limerick.
At that time the weather was very bad and wet. The Bishop asked each priest to pray for fine weather.
The priest of this parish stood up and said, "there is no use in praying for fine weather, and the wind blowing from Haunsells point"
