  1. Long ago some people never wore a shoe. Mary Concannon was an old beggar woman who lodged in a house in Poll-na-brón and she never wore a shoe. Paddy McGowan who lived in Boholo never wore a shoe either. The women wore "troigins" to keep their feet from being chapped by the cold. They used wear shoes only
