    About eight years ago a great accident occurred on the Shannon.
    As the O'Meara's of Kevinstown were taking cattle from the mainland to Islandmore the cattle suddenly became uneasy.
    Animals are conveyed across the Shannon by means of a huge flat boat called a float.
