munity begged for mercy but the invaders were deaf to their pleading. The Abbess prayed to God for mercy and they were struck blind. The invaders promised never again to attack the Convent, they were told to go to a well near by and to wash their eyes in it, and their sight was restored. That night it was invested with healing powers. From that day to this people who have sore eyes go to the well to pay rounds to be cured.
