- There is a churn in every house in this parish. There are three kinds of churns. A barrel an end to end and a dash churn. Barrel churns are the most that are used in Carron. We have a barrel churn at home and there is a big frame under it to hold it up. There is two handles in it for twisting. There is two bathers withing it for which the cream dashes against. The churn takes twenty or twenty five minutes to make. The old people say that every one that would come to another man's and milk her would have(continues on next page)
