- There was a big famine in Ireland in 1847. It started on the fourth of June. The blight came on the potatoes and they growing. It was too late then to plant any more that year. The potatoes were the most thing that the people had to depend on. There was a man buried over at the Corr cross-roads. The old people(continues on next page)
