  1. The old people used to eat oat-meal bread. They used to bake the bread along by the fire leaned against two sods of turf. They also used to eat boxty and Indian-meal bread.

  2. In olden times the people used to eat very rough food. They used to eat potatoes and milk and butter; oat-meal bread, indian meal bread, and boxty.
    They used to get some tea at christmas but would not use it only on christmas night.
    When going to America they used to bake the oat-meal bread for three days, and boil a hen and bring it with them.
