- The people cured long ago by herbs and plants. One of the plants was called henlock. It grows in fields and ditches. There is some growing yet.
The cure for the toothache long ago was to put a mouthful of water and keep it in it to it festers.
The cure for the whooping cough was to go to three houses of the same name where owners were married to people of the same name and get something off them. Then give it to the one that has the whooping cough.
