  1. Once upon a time the lived a man and he had a mare for foaling and he went out to see her at twelve o'clock at night. When he was going down the field the dog began to grin. When the man heard the dog barking he ran home. When it was day light he went out to see where was the dog. When he went to where the Was he saw his dog killed. It was the dog that saved his life and he never went out after that.
