  1. One time there lived in Calliagh a woman named Kate Grimes. This woman could change herself into a hare. She would go round the people's cows in the shape of a hare and milk them. When she was in this shape she only could be shot with a silver sixpence. One night she was milking Mr. Mick Wood's cow. He shot her with a silver sixpence. He followed her into her own house and she was sitting in the corner bleeding. There was a verse made on her:
    "Long live Philip McGaville
    And may he live long,
For he keeps a black dog
    To hunt Kate the witch
    Across the White Bog"
