very late. The poor man was very tired, as he had to walk all the journey home. To add to his trouble, just a he was passing the gate of a churchyard, one of the wheels came off. The man was in a terrible state, as there was not one around to help him. He just happened to speak aloud his thoughts by saying. "There is many a good man inside there. who would help me if he was alive". Those words were hardly spoken, when four fine men were there before him, who never spoke, but who in less than time could tell, had the wheel fixed for him, and with a prayer on his lips the man was able to continue on his journey.

He was about to cross over a stile, when he heard a great noise of horses' hoofs coming behind him. He bent down near the hedge to see what was passing. A great number of men and women galloped past, but all their faces looked strange. Just as the last man and horse passed, the man that was looking on, felt a sharp stinging pain
