  1. Beds are played by as many persons as you would like. First make five squares on the ground with a stick. Then get a piece of a glass or a slate and fling it on the first square. If you flung the slate on the line you would be beaten. Then he would hop in on the square on one foot pick up the slate and hop out again without leaving his other foot on the ground. If you stood on the line you would be beaten also.
