- There is only one tailor in this district and consequently he gets a lot of work to do. He does not go about from village to village as they used to do long ago. He does not supple the material to the people but makes the suits when the material is brought to him.
Down to about twenty years ago the people of this district made their own clothes at home. They spun the wool during the Winter months and then brought it to Mick Mollowney a weaver who lived about a mile from Irishtown. He wove the thread into most beautiful cloth. From this cloth the women made freize, báinín, and shirts. These articles of clothing were very warm and lasting. There was another weaver living down in Iogalisín(continues on next page)- Informant
