  1. Old crafts basket-making, etc
    Beside the bridge in Dunmacreena there lived an old man named Seán Ohairt who was a famous basket-maker in olden times. With the exception of a few perches of a garden. Seán had no and but he was always so comfortable that he was the envy of all his neighbours.
    He made a good living by making turf-baskets, mud-baskets,turf- skibs, clothes skibs, bottle baskets and hand baskets of all kinds.
    When making large baskets he selected twenty pairs of strong rods and stuck the thick ends into the ground. These formed the frame work and were placed standing
