- Long ago the people never sent for a doctor. They were all able to cure their own ailments.
This is one cure they had for a cut or sore - soap mixed with sugar and put to the sore.
Another cure they had if they got burned by a nettle they would rub a dock leaf on it.
They also cured sore eyes. The thorns that were on the gooseberry bush and they made the sign of the cross three times every Monday and Thursday.- Collector
