- In olden times shops were not nuerous numerous in our district. The people always went to the enarest town for goods.
In olden times buying and selling was always carried on after mass. It was done up to the present day. The articles they bought were tea sugar and bread The articles they sold were eggs. Money was got got the eggs, and with this money they bought the groceries.
Very often when a man had no money to suport his family he gave a few days work to the man who owened the shop. In return for the labour the poor man got goods. In Broher about two miles from us the I.R.A. men stopped the train. In this train were various(continues on next page)- Collector
