    while their parents went to the fair. They began to light some old papers and very soon the soot caught fire which set the chimney ablaze. It was useless to try to extinguish the flames, for in a few minutes the whole roof was burned down, and before an hour had elapsed there was nothing to be seen but part of the stonework.
