- Long ago the people only ate two meals a day, the breakfast and supper. They had the breakfast in the morning and the supper in the evening.
In olden times the people went out working at about six o'clock in the morning and then they came in at nine and had their breakfast. They had potatoes at nearly every meal, and when they had not potatoes they had porridge.
