  1. Traditions connected with Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin.
    (1) The seven fold love of the mother for her son.
It is said that the mother loves her son seven times more than he loves her. The reason of that is that Our Lord said when on the love to his mother "mo ghrádh thú a mháthasir." and she is supposed to have said in answer. "Mo sheacht grádh thú, a Mhic."
From that time forward all mothers love their sons seven times as much as their sons love them.
