  1. Saint Cummin
    Kilcummin got its name, from a saint who came ashore in a box.
    It is thought he was sent on a ship and when the ship came near the land it turned into a stone. The stone is to seen there still and it just the shape of a ship every one calls it the ship. It is said if twelve women go on the stone it will change into its former shape and sail away again.
    Saint Cummin was found by a man the name of Maughan. His cow went down and licked the box. It is called Leac Pull na Bo Maorle [?] ever since. Saint Cummin blessed a well and called it Saint Cummin well, a great many people come doing stations here on the last Sunday of July. There was a lot of miracles performed here a
