  1. I asked the children of Enaghbeg National School to write a list of local places names. Several lists were handed to me. These names I have written in another portion of this book. The name "twenties" appeared on a list handed in by a pupil named Kathleen Sweeney, who resides in the village of Enaghbeg. I asked her if she could give any explanation of name "twenties", but she knew nothing beyond the fact that it was the name given to an old house situated on Loftus's land in Freeheen.
