  1. There are two graveyards in our district. The names of them are Killmurrey Graveyard and the Protestant Graveyard. Killmurrey, is situated about three miles from Crossmolina and about three hundred yards from a townland named Rakestreet. The Protestant graveyard is situated about three hundred yards from Crossmolina. There are trees in both graveyards. There are one or two old tombs in Killmurrey. When burying anyone they always go the longer way. They always face the dead to the rising sun. They say that there is a grave in Killmurrey two hundreds years old.
