  1. About forty yards away from St Michaels Well there was a Hedge School and the hedge was there up to about two years ago. It was out in the open children used to be taught.
The teachers were from (?). There were many pupils going there.
They used to be divided in three classes, Junior, Middle, Senior, writing and reading that used to be taught.
The writing used to be done on sltes with slate pencils.
They used to have only one reading book of each kind.
The teachers used to copy it down and give the copies to the children.
When those two old teachers died and the pupils (?) the hedge school was finished.
From that on there was no hedge school in the same town land
