  1. There was a school at Patrick Fitzbibbons of Araglen, Kilworth, Co, Cork, about fifty years ago. It was an old man named Martin Fitzgibbons that was teaching there and he had only one hand. It was a hedge school.
    This was how the pupils were arranged. Some were sitting against the ditch and some were standing and others were kneeling down. This school had no name.
    There were only three subjects taught in this school. These three subjects were called The Three R's which means Reading, 'Riting, 'Rithmetic. There was no Irish spoken in this school.
